Economical sewing for baby

What are the big returns on investment when sewing for babies? Please comment and give your opinion! Am I missing something? Suggestions?

What I found so far are:
* DIY diapers: 24 prefolds + 30 cleaning cloths for diapering, all 100% cotton flannel, all for under €30
* Breastfeeding pillows: €50 + €20 for a spare cover vs. €7 Burda 3390 pattern + (€20) for fabric and notions
* Wool diaper covers: at least €30 each, plus trans-Atlantic shipping, or a repurposed second-hand sweater or felted wool fabric sewn into the shape of a typical diaper with elastic on the legs and waist + 2 diaper pins
